Potentilla Fruticosa 'Goldfinger'
With it's upright habit, mid-green leaves which turn yellow before falling in Autumn, and abundance of single, deep-yellow flowers, this is a very useful shrub for the garden, particularly hedging. Ideal for planting en-masse or for the front of mixed or shrub borders. If planted 60cm (24in) apart in a single line maked an attractive, informal hedge.
Suitable for: Full sun to light shade with no particular soil preference. Hardy.
Height and spread in 10 years: 1.1m x 80cm (3ft 6in x 32in)
Planting
Soak the rootball before planting. Plant in a hole twice the diameter of the rootball or pot. Mix an organic soil improver and general fertiliser with the infill soil. Water regularly until established.
Care
Three years after planting, remove one in three of the shoots to near ground levelafter flowering, choose the oldest. This will in turn, maintain a good display of foliage and flowers.
