Sambucus Nigra Black Lace (Black Elder) is a large deciduous shrub or small tree with finely cut almost black foliage that turns deep red in autumn with pink flat flowerheads in the summer.
Size: 8m height max
Spread: 4m max (will tolerate hard pruning to keep size in check)
Position: Plant in moist but well drained soil in partial shade to full sun.
Planting: Water the plant well remove the pot and plant in a hole large enough or container large enough to avoid disturbing the rootball. Back-fill with soil mixed with compost. Water regularly and throughout the plant's first year of growth.
