Prunus Spinosa, commonly known as blackthorn, is a small, thorny, deciduous tree with dark green, ovate leaves, and small white flowers in early Spring. This is followed by ovoid, bloomy black fruits 1.5cm across.
This particular shrub prefers to be planted in well-drained soil in a sunny location.
It is a very slow growing tree, reaching a height of 2.5-4 metres and 2.5-4 metres spread in 20-50 years.
