Agapanthus africanus ‘Twister’ (PBR) is a modern African lily selected for its unusual two-tone flowers and clean, architectural look. In summer, rounded heads of trumpet-shaped blooms open with bright white centres that contrast sharply with deep blue-violet tips, giving a distinctive twisted colour effect as the flowers mature. The blooms are carried above neat clumps of strap-shaped green foliage, creating a strong vertical accent in borders and containers. Best grown in a sunny, sheltered position with free-draining soil, ‘Twister’ is valued for its long flowering period, contemporary appearance, and reliable garden performance.

How to care for Agapanthus africanus TWISTER (PBR)

Full sun for best flowering and strongest stem growth.

Soil:
Free-draining soil is essential. Performs well in sandy or loam-based soils; avoid winter waterlogging.

Water:
Water regularly during the growing season, especially in containers. Reduce watering in autumn and winter.

Feeding:
Feed monthly with a balanced liquid fertiliser during active growth to encourage strong flowering.

Pruning:
Remove spent flower stems after blooming. Tidy old foliage in spring as new growth appears.
