Distylium First Editions® ‘Vintage Jade’ (PBR) is a compact evergreen shrub that spreads outward to create a dense carpet of foliage. Its small, leathery leaves have a cool blue-green tone that remains present throughout the year, giving structure and colour even in winter. During the colder months, tiny red flowers can appear along the branches, though they are subtle compared with the foliage display. Because of its naturally low and wide habit, this variety works well as groundcover, along border edges, or beneath taller shrubs. In the UK it benefits from a sheltered position and soil that drains freely, growing well in either sunny or lightly shaded parts of the garden while requiring very little routine maintenance once established.
