Heptacodium miconioides First Editions® ‘Tianshan’ (PBR) is a deciduous small tree or large shrub valued for its late-season flowering and striking bark. In late summer to early autumn, clusters of fragrant white flowers appear at the ends of the branches, attracting bees and other pollinating insects. After the flowers fade, the surrounding calyces develop pinkish-red tones, extending the display well into autumn. The plant also features attractive peeling bark that provides additional interest during winter. Hardy and reliable in UK gardens, it grows best in fertile, well-drained soil and performs well in full sun or partial shade, where it develops a graceful, multi-stemmed form.
