Hibiscus syriacus ‘Blue Chiffon’ (PBR) is a deciduous shrub appreciated for its showy late-summer flowers and upright form. From mid-summer into early autumn, the branches produce large pale blue blooms with a soft, layered centre of frilled inner petals, giving each flower a delicate, almost double appearance. Green foliage develops through spring and summer, forming a leafy backdrop for the long flowering period. Because it blooms later than many garden shrubs, it helps extend seasonal colour well into the warmer months. Hardy in UK conditions, it grows best in fertile soil that drains well and flowers most reliably when planted in a sunny position.
