£6.99
In stock

Sarpo Mira seed potatoes produce attractive red-skinned, oval tubers with light-yellow flesh and a dry, floury texture. They are particularly useful for golden roast potatoes and homemade chips, with a fluffy centre when cooked.

Introduced in 2002, this vigorous late maincrop offers good yield potential across a range of soils. Sarpo Mira is noted for its strong resistance to late blight and its long-term storage potential, making it a useful choice for allotment growers wanting potatoes to enjoy through autumn and winter.

Planting and care

Plant from mid-April to early May in fertile, well-drained soil, spacing approximately 45cm apart in rows 75cm apart. Earth up developing shoots and water during dry spells.

Harvest

Usually September–October from spring planting. Check tuber size rather than waiting for all foliage to die back, as plants can remain green late in the season. Store dry, healthy, undamaged potatoes in a cool, dark, frost-free place.
