Viburnum plicatum ‘PINKAWAI’ (PBR) is a deciduous shrub grown for its pronounced structure and gentle progression of colour through flowering. The plant develops wide, horizontal layers of branching that give it a composed, architectural outline from an early age. In late spring, deep pink buds appear along the upper surfaces of the branches, gradually opening to softer pink blooms that lighten as they mature. This shift in tone creates depth without overwhelming the plant’s form. The pleated green foliage supports the display through summer before fading quietly in autumn. Best suited to open positions where its shape can be appreciated, ‘PINKAWAI’ offers refined seasonal interest and long-term structure with very little need for intervention.
