Yucca filamentosa ‘Colour Guard’ is a compact evergreen shrub that brings strong form and year-round colour to sunny planting areas. Its stiff, upright leaves grow in a dense clump, each one marked by a pale yellow central stripe bordered by green, with fine white threads curling naturally from the leaf edges. This creates a crisp, sculptural effect even when the plant is not in flower. In summer, established plants send up tall stems carrying creamy white blooms, adding height and seasonal interest. Tough, drought tolerant, and long lived once settled, this variety suits gravel gardens, containers, and dry borders where structure and reliability matter more than frequent care.
