Chaenomeles × superba ‘Jet Trail’ is a low-growing, deciduous flowering quince selected for its graceful habit and crisp white spring flowers. In early spring, the bare, arching stems are lined with single white blooms, each centred with golden stamens, giving the shrub a light and flowing appearance rather than a dense block of colour. The flowers appear in abundance before the leaves open, highlighting the plant’s naturally spreading form. Once flowering has finished, glossy green foliage fills out the framework, creating a compact, ground-covering shrub that remains attractive through the growing season and may develop small decorative fruits later in the year. Its restrained size and elegant outline make it especially useful at the front of borders, on banks, or in smaller gardens where subtle spring interest is preferred.
