Cornus kousa ‘China Girl’ is a compact deciduous dogwood grown for its impressive summer flowering and refined seasonal colour. In early to mid-summer, large overlapping white bracts appear above the foliage, forming a bright, long-lasting display that contrasts beautifully with the dark green leaves. As the season progresses, the canopy remains dense and healthy before turning vivid red to orange-red shades in autumn, often accompanied by decorative, strawberry-like fruits. Slow growing and naturally well shaped, it is ideal for smaller gardens and specimen planting. Fully hardy in UK conditions, it performs best in moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil in full sun or light shade.
