Cotinus coggygria GOLDEN SPIRIT (PBR) is a deciduous smoke bush prized for its vibrant golden foliage and soft, cloud-like summer blooms. Fresh yellow leaves appear in spring and maintain a bright presence through the growing season, bringing contrast and light to mixed borders. In early to mid-summer, airy flower clusters develop into the characteristic smoky plumes that hover above the plant. As autumn arrives, the foliage shifts to warm shades of orange and red before leaf fall. Fully hardy in UK gardens, it grows best in well-drained soil and a sunny position, where leaf colour is strongest and the plant forms an eye-catching garden feature.
