Ficus carica ‘Del Portogallo’ is a deciduous fig valued for its attractive foliage and productive habit. Large, deeply lobed green leaves create a bold, Mediterranean look through the growing season, while the tree develops a broad, spreading form as it matures. In warm summers it produces rounded figs that ripen to deep purple tones. Its architectural foliage and reliable growth make it suitable for sunny borders, courtyard gardens, or growing against a warm wall. Hardy in many UK gardens when planted in a sheltered position, it grows best in well-drained soil and benefits from plenty of sunlight.
