Forsythia ‘Marée d’Or’ is a compact deciduous shrub with a naturally spreading habit, grown mainly for its bright spring flowers. At the start of the season, the slender stems are lined with clear yellow blooms that appear before the foliage emerges, creating a vivid display of colour. After flowering, green leaves develop and form a dense, low-growing plant that remains through the summer months. Because it stays relatively low and spreads outward, it is particularly useful for planting on banks, along border edges, or as a ground-covering shrub. Hardy and dependable in UK gardens, it grows well in most reasonably drained soils and flowers reliably in sunny or lightly shaded positions.
