Heptacodium miconioides Proven Winners® ‘Temple of Bloom®’ (PBR) is a deciduous ornamental tree or large shrub valued for its late-season display and attractive bark. Toward the end of summer, the plant produces clusters of scented white flowers at the tips of the branches, providing colour when many other shrubs have finished flowering. After the petals fall, the remaining bracts deepen to rosy pink tones, keeping the plant decorative into autumn. During winter the pale bark begins to peel in strips, adding further visual interest. Hardy and dependable in UK gardens, it grows well in fertile soil with good drainage and thrives in either full sun or light shade, where it develops into an elegant multi-stemmed specimen.
