Magnolia sieboldii is a deciduous magnolia valued for its distinctive summer flowers and relaxed growth habit. Unlike many magnolias, it blooms after the leaves have developed, producing white flowers with clearly visible red centres over an extended period. The plant forms a broad, informal outline as it matures and is well suited to gardens where a later-flowering magnolia is desired. Best grown in moist, free-draining soil and a sheltered position.
