Pinus parviflora 'Tempelhof' is a compact evergreen pine selected for its refined habit and cool-toned foliage. It forms a dense, well-balanced plant with short needles grouped in fives, giving the foliage a soft blue-green to silvery appearance throughout the year. Growth is slow and controlled, allowing the plant to retain a neat outline without regular pruning. Its restrained size and calm colouring make it suitable for small gardens, containers, and feature planting where long-term structure and subtle colour contrast are required.

How to care for Pinus parviflora 'Tempelhof'

Light:
Full sun to light partial shade; best needle colour and compact growth in full sun.

Soil:
Free-draining soil is essential; prefers sandy or loamy ground. Avoid heavy, waterlogged soils.

Water:
Water regularly during the first year to establish roots; once established, drought tolerant and dislikes overly wet conditions.

Pruning:
Very little required. If shaping is needed, pinch or shorten new candles in late spring rather than cutting old wood.

Hardiness:
Fully hardy in UK conditions.
