Prunus incisa 'Kojou-no-mai' is a compact ornamental cherry celebrated as much for its sculptural branches as for its early spring blossom. The naturally zig-zagging stems create a striking outline throughout winter, which becomes softened in early spring as pale pink flowers open and gradually lighten along the bare wood. This combination of form and flower gives the plant year-round interest despite its modest size. After flowering, small green leaves emerge to form a light, airy canopy that does not obscure the distinctive structure. Ideal for smaller gardens, containers, or feature planting, 'Kojou-no-mai' offers character, elegance, and seasonal interest without demanding space or intensive care.
