Vaccinium corymbosum ‘Polaris’ is a compact blueberry variety developed for reliable cropping in cooler climates. Flowering in spring, it produces early-ripening blue berries with a balanced, gently sweet flavour that makes them well suited to fresh eating. The plant forms a neat, upright shrub that fits easily into smaller gardens or container growing, provided acidic conditions are maintained. In addition to its fruiting value, the foliage offers seasonal interest, remaining fresh through summer before changing colour later in the year. Hardy and straightforward to grow when soil requirements are met, ‘Polaris’ is a dependable choice for gardeners seeking an early harvest from a manageable, productive blueberry plant.

Pruning:
Little pruning required in the early years; once established, remove a small number of older stems in late winter to maintain productivity.
