Wisteria floribunda ‘Issai’ (syn. ‘Domino’) is a more compact, free-flowering wisteria that is particularly valued for its early maturity and suitability for smaller gardens. In late spring, it produces generous racemes of lilac-blue flowers with a light fragrance, often appearing at a younger age than many traditional wisteria varieties. Its twining habit is vigorous yet easier to manage, making it well suited to walls, pergolas, arches, and even large containers. With regular pruning and a sunny position, ‘Issai’ develops into a reliable, long-lived climber that delivers classic wisteria impact without overwhelming its space.
