Chamaecyparis obtusa ‘Kamarachiba’ is a dwarf, evergreen Hinoki cypress grown for its rich golden foliage and naturally compact shape. The finely textured, fan-like sprays emerge in warm yellow to amber tones, especially vivid on new growth, before settling into golden-green as they mature. Slow growing and dense, it forms a rounded to slightly irregular mound that maintains its structure without pruning. With its glowing colour and refined texture, ‘Kamarachiba’ is ideal for rock gardens, containers, gravel planting, and the front of borders, providing year-round interest and controlled growth in both contemporary and Japanese-style garden settings.
