Cornus kousa ‘Satomi Compact’ is a restrained, slow-growing form of the pink-flowering dogwood, selected for its compact shape and strong ornamental value. In early to mid-summer, layers of deep pink bracts appear above the foliage, creating a colourful focal point without overwhelming surrounding planting. The mid-green leaves remain fresh through summer before developing vivid red to orange-red tones in autumn, often alongside decorative red fruits. Naturally dense and well balanced, it is particularly well suited to smaller gardens and feature planting. Fully hardy in UK conditions, it prefers moist, well-drained, slightly acidic soil and grows best in full sun or light shade.
