Distylium First Editions® ‘Coppertone®’ is a compact evergreen shrub valued for its colourful new growth and dense, rounded habit. Fresh shoots emerge in warm coppery-bronze tones before gradually maturing to blue-green foliage, giving the plant a changing display of colour throughout the year. Small reddish flowers can appear along the stems in late winter to early spring, adding subtle seasonal interest. Naturally tough and adaptable once established, it forms a neat shrub suitable for borders, low hedging, and foundation planting. In the UK it performs best in sheltered positions with well-drained soil and grows well in full sun or partial shade, offering year-round structure with minimal maintenance.
