Hydrangea paniculata ‘Levana’ is a large, vigorous deciduous shrub recognised for producing some of the biggest flower heads among panicle hydrangeas. From mid-summer, very long cone-shaped clusters of pure white flowers develop, sometimes reaching impressive lengths. The blooms are made up of large star-like sterile florets mixed with smaller fertile flowers that are lightly scented and attractive to pollinating insects. These striking panicles are carried on strong upright stems that help keep them steady even during wet or windy weather. Its tall, robust growth makes it particularly suitable for the back of borders or for creating a flowering screen. Mature plants can reach around 2.5–3 m in height with a spread of about 2 m, and it grows well in both sunny and lightly shaded positions in UK gardens.
