Hydrangea quercifolia Gatsby Star is a premium Proven Winners variety, celebrated for its unique and show-stopping double-petalled flowers. Each massive conical panicle is packed with beautiful, star-shaped florets stacked in tiers, creating a much fuller and more architectural look than traditional oak-leaf hydrangeas. The blooms emerge a pristine white in midsummer before aging to a lovely vintage pink. Its deeply lobed, dark green foliage provides a lush backdrop and transforms into a stunning display of mahogany and wine-red in autumn. This sturdy, upright shrub is perfect as a sophisticated focal point or for adding high-end texture to shaded borders. Height and spread approx. 1.5m–1.8m. Fully hardy.

Grown for its large, dramatic flower heads and bold foliage.

Star-shaped white florets form large, elongated flower panicles in early to mid-summer.

Large, oak-like leaves provide excellent autumn colour in red, orange, and purple tones.

Ideal as a specimen shrub, in borders, or woodland-style planting.
