Pinus mugo 'Carstens Wintergold' is a compact evergreen pine grown for its distinctive change in foliage colour through the year. During the growing season it forms a low, rounded plant with short green needles held in pairs. As winter approaches, the needles gradually shift from green to a bright golden yellow, giving the plant a strong seasonal presence at a time when most conifers remain unchanged.
