Azalea luteum is a deciduous azalea prized for its vivid colour, powerful fragrance, and strong seasonal interest. In late spring, upright clusters of rich yellow flowers appear before or as the foliage expands, releasing an intense, sweet scent that carries well on warm days. The floral display is bold without being coarse, bringing brightness and movement to woodland-style planting. After flowering, soft green leaves provide a light, open structure through summer before transforming into glowing shades of orange and red in autumn. Hardy and long lived, Azalea luteum is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking fragrance, colour, and dramatic seasonal change in acidic soils.
