Rhododendron 'Polarnacht' is an evergreen shrub renowned for its unusually deep flower colour. In mid to late spring, near-black buds open into velvety, dark purple blooms, creating a dramatic contrast against the glossy green foliage. The flowers are held in tight clusters, giving the plant a rich, saturated appearance rather than a loose floral display. Its naturally compact, rounded shape allows it to remain tidy without regular pruning, making it easy to integrate into borders or shaded planting schemes. Distinctive and atmospheric, 'Polarnacht' is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking strong, moody colour combined with year-round structure.
