Tulbaghia violacea ‘Purple Eye’ is a compact, clump-forming perennial grown for its long season of delicate flowers and easy-going nature. From early summer onward, slender stems rise above the foliage carrying star-shaped lilac-purple blooms, each marked with a deeper purple centre that adds definition and contrast. The narrow, grey-green leaves form a neat base and release a light garlic scent when brushed, helping deter pests. Thriving in sun and free-draining soil, this variety is well suited to borders, gravel planting, and containers where reliable colour and minimal maintenance are required.
